The Global for Children (GFC) theory of change is a ideal that we should all get behind. The GFC believes that the most effective way of changing the lives of children and youth around the world is to focus on developing holistic wellbeing through a human-rights based approach (GFC, 2021). Holistic health takes into consideration the health and well-being of the child's mind, body, spirit, emotions and their response to the environment.

As an early childhood professional, we seek to educate the whole child. We realize that health, nutrition, shelter, financial security, to name a few all effects a child's ability to thrive.

Hey Nicole, The approach that the GFC has taken by being effective and changing the lives of children and youth around the world is to focus on developing holistic wellbeing through a human-rights based approach is great. Considering the whole child body, spirit, mind are all important and should be considered for the development. Great Post!

Nicole,

Your post places the importance on being an educator and how it goes beyond the classroom. We not only have to help develop the whole child but also know the whole child and their background to help them reach the outcomes we want.
